Steps to Perform Windows Updates
It’s recommended that you regularly check and run windows updates, the steps below will show you how to do this. (Microsoft .Net is included as part of Windows Updates.)
Tap the (Windows Start) button, type “Update” into the search field and select Windows Update from the list. Screen shots are taken with Windows 7; it may be slightly different if you use a new or older version of the Windows Operating System i.e. XP or Windows 8.
In the Windows Update window you can choose to download and install necessary updates as well as optional updates. Allow yourself plenty of time to run these processes and it’s recommended to set your computer to automatically perform updates, otherwise check back and run them often.
Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install windows updates. You can also check to see which version of Microsoft .Net version you have by navigating to your control panel and looking for Microsoft .net in your list of programs and features.
