Import Information - Definitions and Column Data Type

Import Information

1: Definitions

Table Name – The table name must not have any blank (TAB, Space) spaces and must not have any non-alpha characters. (Only a-z or A-Z)

Column Heading – The column heading must not start with any non-alpha characters. (Only a-z or A-Z) But can contain non-alpha after the first character (1-9, !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, _, ) but can not contain any math characters ( -, +, *, /, ( , ) ) .

2: Column Data Type

Standard Column Data Type – When importing the column data types will mostly be in the "Text" format.

Some exceptions to Column Data Types

"alt e-mail flag" is of type "Yes/No" (otherwise called Boolean or Bool)

"Amount" and "Amount from other" are type "Number" with field size set to "Decimal"

Birth Date (three available types: Text, Date/Time, Number)

"Birth Date String YYYYMMDD" is of type "Text" and must be in the YYYYMMDD format

"Birth Date" is of type "Date/Time"

"Birth Date Year Only" is of type "Number" field size set to "Integer" or "Long Integer" will set month and day to 1. (everyone will have 1/1/YYYY as birth date)

"Credit Card Expiration" is of type "Date/Time"

"Date" is of type "Date/Time"

Head of Household (three available types: Text, Date/Time, Number) in Trail Blazer is a Boolean value (True/False, binary value 1 or 0)

"Head of Household/Bool" is of type "Yes/No" (otherwise called Boolean or Bool) if Yes then set to true (1).

"Head of Household/Int" is of type "Number" field size set to "Integer" or "Long Integer" if integer is "1" then set to true (1).

"Head of Household/String" is of type "Text" if value is "H" then set to true (1).

Party (Two available types: Text, Number)

"Party ID" is of type "Number" field size set to "Integer" or "Long Integer"
This Party ID is a ranked system you MUST have 5 Groups setup to use this if integer is: 1 = "Dem1", 2 = "Dem2", 3 = "Center3", 4 = "GOP4", 5 = "GOP5".
Because it is a ranked system we do not set the party code just a group, if you wish to set the code after loaded this is possible.

"party", "setpartybyprimary" and "setpartybyprimary2" are of type "Text" and is looking for either the federal 3 character code (Federal Party Code ) for the party or the full name of the party. See attached Party List. If it is not on the list it will take the first 3 characters of the text line and make that the party code - NOTE this may conflict with something else. One major note if you have "setpartybyprimary" you must have "setpartybyprimary2" and the "party" can not be used (if it is it will get over written).

"PCR Date" is of type "Date/Time"

Registration Date (two available types: Text, Date/Time)

"Reg Date String YYYYMMDD" is of type Text and must be in the YYYYMMDD format.

"Registration Date" is of type "Date/Time"
