This article will teach you how to conform an address, when you conform an address you will get rid of discrepancies between things like St. vs. Street. It’s a good idea to do this before a merge to assist with removing duplicates, search Merge in the Knowledge Base.
Under the Application Menu follow Voter/Donor > Addresses.
Build your query to pull up a particular address list or simply click [search] and select the amount of records to pull down. In this example the search criteria is left blank and the option to load (all) addresses is selected.
Click the File Drop-down menu from the Search Tool Strip and select Conform Addresses.
You will be prompted with a Warning. Click [OK] if you wish to proceed.
You will be returned with the results of address updates and address merges.
It’s possible not all address were conformed on the first pass, sort the list by a column with content in it and run the conform process again until 0 merges and 0 address updates occur.
Click on a Column Header to sort and again click the File drop-down and select Conform Addresses. In this example I sort by the City.
Click [OK] to re-run the Address Conform process. If the results are “0” you are finished.
